As an opera coach, Tim regularly helps singers to prepare for roles on the international operatic stage. He is most at home with later German, and English repertoire, with a developing specialism for Wagner and the late romantics (recently preparing Franz Hawlata for the role of König Heinrich in Madrid and Nabil Suliman for the role of Tristan, and assisting Vladimir Jurowski on Das Rheingold with the LPO). He is also gaining significant experience in contemporary opera, recently working closely with the cast of the stage premiere of John Adams's new opera The Gospel According to the Other Mary at English National Opera, on Luke Styles's Macbeth at Glyndebourne, on Thomas Adés's Powder Her Face at Northern Ireland Opera and at Nevill Holt opera, and on Brett Dean's Hamlet at Glyndebourne Festival and Tour 2017 and the Adelaide Festival in early 2018. Alongside these specialisms, Tim remains active in a broad range of repertoire, most recently playing for and coaching on two Handel productions at Glyndebourne and assisting on Rossini at Garsington and Mozart at Glyndebourne.

Tim is based in South London, but is often also available on a private basis while working elsewhere as a guest. Please check the schedule page and get in touch.
